Roanoke, VA - In a rematch of their first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game of the season, the Hollins basketball team traveled to Bridgewater on Saturday afternoon.  The Eagles got the best of Hollins way back on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and Hollins hoped to return the favor on Bridgewater's home court. 

The home team used an 11-0, game opening, run to build a lead that they would keep throughout the afternoon.  Hollins would trim the deficit to 12 points at the 5:55 mark of the second period, but Bridgwater closed out the half with a 10-4 spurt to take an 18 point advantage into the break.  After an Eagle basket pushed the lead to 20, Hollins scored four straight to try and get back into the game.  However, the Eagles kept coming at Hollins in waves, finishing the matchup with five different players notching double digits.  As the horn sounded, Bridgewater had completed the season sweep of their ODAC foe with a 66-42 victory.

First-year post player Sally Sroge (Louisville, CO) led Hollins with 14 points on 6-13 shooting.  Sroge added five rebounds, three steals, and three blocks.  Jewellanna Parfitt (Roanoke, VA) joined Sroge in double digits with 10 points.  Nikki Valencia (Pearland, TX) scored six points to go with five steals while senior Auburn Smith (Las Vegas, NV) added five points, six rebounds, and a team leading four assists.  Deana Campbell (Nashville, TN) came off the bench to grab eight of Hollins 35 rebounds.   

Briana Moore led the balanced Bridgewater attack with 13 points.  Cassidy Burkholder netted 12 and Jessi Strom added 11 while Oshene Kelly registered a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Jessica Lam gave the Eagles a fifth player in double digits.

Hollins will return home for a rare, February, non-conference game on Monday night.  Southern Virginia makes the short trip south for a 6:00pm tip.
