Lexington, VA - The Hollins University tennis team opened the 2016 season with a trip to perennial power Washington and Lee on Saturday afternoon. The Generals came into the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener with a National Ranking of #10.
The afternoon got started with three matches featuring doubles competition. Washington and Lee earned a 3-0 sweep and took the lead into singles play. The Generals were able to sweep the first four seeds of singles competition and the match was called with the home team earning the 7-0 conference victory.
The Generals ran their ODAC record to 2-0 after defeating Randolph College later in the day while Hollins fell to 0-1 in conference play. Hollins will continue her, season opening, four match road trip when they face Mary Baldwin on March 2nd.
