Box Score

Harrisonburg, VA - The Hollins basketball team finished up a rough four game stretch against the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) leaders.  Hollins has faced three of the top four teams in the league, as well as the defending champions, in their past four contests.  The Royals of Eastern Mennonite awaited Hollins as they went on the road in search of their first conference win of the calendar year.

Hollins and Eastern Mennonite traded baskets to start the game.  With the score tied at 5-5, the Royals slowly built their advantage and at the 4:40 mark of the first period, enjoyed a 10 point lead, 20-10.  The home team exploded over the final four minutes, outscoring their guests 11-3, to secure a 31-13 advantage after just 10 minutes of play.  Hollins was able to win the second quarter, 15-14, but at the break it was Eastern Mennonite with a 17 point cushion.  The second half was a much tighter affair, but during a third period that saw Hollins outscored by six, the home standing Royals enjoyed a big lead heading into the matchup's final frame.  The visitors ended the game on a 8-5 run but it wasn't enough to avoid the road loss, 89-63.

Junior Jewellanna Parfitt (Roanoke, VA) registered a double-double, her sixth of the season, with 17 points and 11 rebounds.  Senior Auburn Smith (Las Vegas, NV) went for double digits for the second consecutive outing by netting 13 points to go with three steals while Nikki Valencia (Pearland, TX) added 14 points, three rebounds, and five assists.  Deana Campbell (Nashville, TN) came off the bench to score three points and grab 10 boards.

Jess Rheinheimer led a quartet of Royals in double figures with a game high 18 points.  Myneshia Walker had 17 with Sa'Mone Moore adding 14 and Lindsey Krisak adding 12.  Reheinheimer, the reigning ODAC Player of the Year and Player of the Week, added eight of Eastern Mennionite's 49 rebounds.

Hollins will be back in action on Wednesday night when they play host to Randolph College at 7:00pm.
