Cross Town Matchup Goes To Maroons

Salem, VA - Hollins made the short trip south to face cross town rival Roanoke College on Monday afternoon.  Hollins went looking to pick up a much needed ODAC win in order to move up the conference standings in advance of the season ending tournament.

Despite winning several games during the doubles matches, Hollins found themselves in a 0-3 hole going into the singles matchups.  For the third consecutive conference match, Victoria Coffee (Plano, TX) picked up a victory at #1 singles.  Coffee bested Briell Smith, 6-3 and 6-1, to push her ODAC mark to 3-1 on the season.  Roanoke rebounded to pick up five more wins during singles play and won the match, 8-1.

Hollins is scheduled to be back on the court on Tuesday afternoon, but with the weather a question mark, the match with Randolph could be in jeopardy.
