Emory, VA - The Hollins University basketball team traveled to Emory & Henry for an ODAC matchup on Tuesday night.  Hollins fell behind the Wasps during a first half that saw the visitors shoot just 24%.  The lead proved too big for Hollins to overcome as Emory & Henry took the game, 73-48.

Hollins raced out to a 5-2 lead during the opening minutes of the game.  However, Emory & Henry used three different first half runs to build a 36-14 with four minutes remaining before the half.  Back to back three pointers by Jewellanna Parfitt (Roanoke, VA) and Taylor Catron (Tazewell, VA) provided Hollins with a late half surge but it wasn't enough to cut into the deficit.  The first half buzzer sounded with Hollins shooting just 24% from the field and committing 17 turnovers.

Hollins played a much cleaner second half and despite once again shooting less than 30%, the two teams played to a virtual draw.  Hollins couldn't cut into the Wasp's lead and failed to pick up their first ODAC victory of the season.

Parfitt posted a double-double by recording 15 points and 12 rebounds.  Britney Campbell (Silver Spring, MD) equalled Catron's eight points while Amber Markovitz (Branford, CT) added six points and 10 rebounds.

Tamara Brewster paced four different Wasps in double figures.  Brewster netted 19 points and seven rebounds off the bench.  Kristie Langley had 13 points and six rebounds and Chloe Harris posted 12 points, five rebounds, and five steals.

Hollins will travel to Lexington on Saturday afternoon for a rematch with Washington and Lee.  The Generals won an overtime thriller at Hollins just before the holiday break.
