Heather Stevens began serving as Assistant Volleyball Coach at Hollins University in the spring of 2018.
Stevens returns to the ODAC where she enjoyed a stellar volleyball career. After playing a season at NCAA Division I Radford University, Stevens transferred to Bridgewater College where she would join current Hollins University head coach Katherine Heath-Lawson. As a middle hitter for the Eagles, Stevens was named First Team all ODAC in 2004 and 2005. Currently, Stevens still holds the record for total blocks in a game, while being listed as second in school history with total blocks per season.
Stevens excelled in the classroom as well. In back to back season, Stevens was named ESPN the Magazine All Academic District III First Team. She wrapped up her stellar playing career by being named the 2005 ODAC Scholar Athlete of the Year. After graduating summa cum laude from Bridgewater, Stevens went on to earn her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from James Madison University.
“I am thrilled to announce that Heather is joining the Hollins volleyball family. She brings an enormous amount of volleyball playing experience and knowledge to our program. I am also looking forward to working with one of my former collegiate teammates” stated Heath-Lawson.
Heather Stevens is currently a Physician Assistant at a private hospital in Salem, Virginia. Stevens resides in Catawba with her husband, Chris and their four children, Camryn, Noah, Addison, and David. A Craig County High School graduate, Stevens recently had her volleyball jersey retired by her alma mater.
