Erin Doherty Headshot 2021

Erin Doherty

Erin Doherty is in her first season at the helm of the Hollins Lacrosse program.

Doherty comes to Hollins from Fayette, Iowa where she's been the head women's lacrosse coach since 2017 at Upper Iowa University, the only DII institution in Iowa. She was tasked with launching the Peacocks lacrosse program. In her three years at the helm, she brought in 17 players from 10 different states. The Peacocks inaugural season was cut short in 2020 due to COVID. While at Upper Iowa, she was also the SAAC Co-Advisor, the Mentors in Violence Prevention Facilitator and the Title IX Investigator.

Prior to her time in Fayette, she was the head coach at Bay Path University, an all-women's college in Longmeadow, Massachusetts and was also an assistant coach for the Western New England University lacrosse team. During her time at Western New England, the Golden Bears were regular season conference champions from 2013-2015, Commonwealth Coast Conference Champions in 2015 and made it to the NCAA DIII Second Round in 2015. They were the conference runners-up in 2013, ECAC Championship runners-up 2013 and had the third best turnaround season in NCAA History in the 2013 season.

Doherty resides in Roanoke.Â
