Kayleigh Burke is in her second season as the assistant riding coach at Hollins University. Burke's duties include: recruiting to the program, database management, communication with prospective student-athletes, cultivating a social media presence, as well as coaching and teaching. 

Burke came to Hollins after spending several years at Virginia Tech, where she received her Masters of Arts in Communication. While at the Blacksburg institution, Burke spent two years as an assistant coach of the Hokie IHSA Hunter Team. Her coaching duties included: serving as a mentor and role model for team members, helping to coordinate team and one-on-one practice sessions, coordinate travel, as well as assisting in the selection of IHSA team members, and monitoring the athletic performance of the student-athletes. In addition to serving as an assistant coach, Burke also worked in the Virginia Tech Department of Communications as a Graduate Teaching Assistant of Public Speaking.

During her competition days, Burke was an IHSA National Champion on the flat in 2016. She also qualified and  placed at IHSA Nationals in 2016, 2017 and 2018 for over fences.
