For the fist time in school history,
Grace Margaret Trahnstrom was named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Rider of the Week Over Fences.
The National College Equestrian Association (NCEA) 2026-27 season kicked off last weekend. Hollins, new to the single discipline organization, competed in the head-to-head format for the first time. The Green and Gold traveled to South Carolina to compete in a pair of events. On Friday Hollins played the 2026 National Champions from the University of South Carolina to a 5-5 draw in their first ever NCEA competition. On Saturday morning, Hollins would come up just short with a 3-5 loss to Sewanee.Â
In the tie against the Gamecocks, Trahnstrom rode Q to an 84-82 win over Alyssa Bauer. The junior's 84 points were the most by any of the 10 riders over fences and secured her the designation of Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) Over Fences. Trahnstrom returned on the Flat to recorded 78 points aboard Fenway and her outstanding effort helped Hollins to the tie against the reigning dual discipline National Champs.Â
