The Lead: Hollins kicked off the 2023-24 tennis season when they hosted Virginia Wesleyan on Friday afternoon. The match was the first for both teams with a win in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) on the line. The Marlins would take the doubles matches and carried that momentum in singles play on their way to defeating Hollins, 9-0.

Highlights:

• Peyton Jones and Charlie Miller fell (8-1) at the top doubles spot. The duo of Arabella Crookshanks and Mei Shalaby fell by the identical score at the #3 position.
• Shalaby returned at #5 singles picking up three game wins before falling 6-0 and 6-3.
• Miller, Emily Jones, and Isabelle Ingwerson each won games but could not secure a point for the Green and Gold.

Up Next: Hollins be back in action during the spring portion of the season starting in February.
