Jacorra Russell of the basketball team is the Hollins Student-Athlete of the Week. After taking two weeks for the holiday break, the Hollins basketball team returned to action just prior to the New Year. HU is 4-0 since resuming play and Russell, a first year forward, has eclipsed the double digit mark in all four contests. Russell averaged 18.75 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.25 blocks, and 2.0 steals per game. During that span she shot 33-56 for 58.9% from the field and has moved into the Top 20 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) in scoring and steals. She is currently 5th on the league, shooting 51.1% for the season.
