Noelani Carter of the basketball team is the Hollins Student-Athlete of the Week. Hollins hosted the 2025 Empowerment Classic over the weekend. The two-day event featured Hollins, Agnes Scott, Warren Wilson, and William Peace. After an easy win over Warren Wilson, Hollins played William Peace and found themselves down in the fourth quarter. Thanks in part to Carter and her 15 points, eight rebounds, an assist, and three steals, HU rallied to down the Pacers and move their early season record to 5-1. With her stellar weekend, Carter was named MVP of the Empowerment Classic.
