The top-six places in the ODAC Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll shuffled positions this season, except for the top spot. Three-time defending ODAC champion Washington and Lee University garnered 10 first place votes for the second straight year on the way to 141 total points. The University of Lynchburg moved up a few rungs to second position with 128 markers including a pair of first place votes. Bridgewater College sits third with 111 tallies, while Shenandoah University climbs to fourth with 108 points and the remaining top nod.
New Hollins cross country coach Alex Kosicki takes over a program that exceeded expectations a season ago and returns most of it's top runners. Debra Henke is the top 5K harrier while Francesca Reilly posted a season best 6K time at the 2017 ODAC Championships. Hollins will enter the season with a roster of 10 runners and they will face outside competition for the first time on August 31st when they travel to run the course at Virginia Tech.
