Coach Katherine Heath Lawson took over the reins of the Hollins Volleyball program in January of 2015.  Heath Lawson enjoyed a stellar playing career at ODAC rival Bridgewater College.  During her four years in an Eagle uniform, she was a three year starter, team captain, and a two time All ODAC selection.  Bridgewater posted a 106-21 overall record during her four seasons on the court. Coach Heath Lawson set four individual records, two of which still stand, as well as graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Art degree, majoring in French and a minor in Education.

After graduation, Heath Lawson began her career in education by teaching French at Hidden Valley High School in Roanoke.  During her time in the classroom, Katherine served as an assistant volleyball coach for a team that made back to back final four appearances in the Virginia State Tournament.  In addition to coaching at the high school level, Coach Heath Lawson provided private volleyball lessons and worked with the track and field program. Currently she is the director of the Hollins Volleyball Camp during the summer months as well as serving as a liaison between the athletic department and admissions.  

After coming to Hollins, Heath Lawson spent six years (June 2009 - July 2015) in the admissions office. Katatherine, a native of Roanoke, resides in the valley with her husband, Ty, and their son, Benjamin.
