  • Hollins Faces Yellow Jackets In Finale
    April 29, 2018
    In a rescheduled match from earlier this month, the Hollins tennis team welcomed Randolph-Macon to town for each team's regular season finale. The Yellow Jackets came into the afternoon having already wrapped up second place during the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular season while Hollins would need to pull off the upset to pull into an eighth place tie in the standings.

    The Hollins tennis team played the first of back-to-back Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matches to close the regular season. Hollins came into Saturday in a tie with Shenadoah, with the winner of today's match inching closer to the number eight spot in the conference standings.

    The Hollins tennis team made her last road trip of the spring season over the weekend. After returning late Friday night from a matchup with Randolph, Hollins boarded the van to make the long trek to the eastern shore to face Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon.

    The Hollins tennis team took a two match win streak on the road when they traveled to face Sweet Briar in a crucial Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match. The Vixens took a 2-1 lead after doubles play and made Hollins play from behind for the remainder of the afternoon.
  • Hollins Takes Win Streak Into Sweet Briar

    For the second time this season, the Hollins tennis team is on a winning streak. After starting their four match, spring break trip with back to back wins, Hollins used a 9-0 win over Trinity to once again see their winning streak reach two matches. Hollins defeated Emory & Henry, 8-1, last Friday and will take their steak on the road in two days when they travel to face their arch rivals from Sweet Briar College.

    For the second time in as many days, the Hollins tennis team found herself in action against Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) competition. After falling, on the road, to Bridgewater, Hollins returned home to host Emory & Henry College on Friday afternoon.

    The Hollins tennis team returned to action over two weeks since her last match when they traveled to face Bridgewater College on Thursday afternoon. It marked the first time the team would face outside competition since her trip to Hilton Head over Spring Break and it was the first of back-to-back Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matches in as many days.

    The final of a four match in seven day road trip for Hollins took place on Wednesday morning. Hollins played Carroll University in each teams final match at the Spring Tennis Fest. The event, hosted by the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) on Hilton Head Island, featured several college and universities from around the country.

    The second of three matches in Hilton Head featured Hollins challenging a College of Wooster team that brought a 9-1 record into the match. Hollins looked to run their win streak to three after wins over Guilford and Juniata leading up to Tuesday's showdown with the Scots.

    The Hollins, Spring Break, road trip continued on Monday afternoon. After a big storm moved through Hilton Head Island, the Green and Gold had to wait an hour and a half to begin their match against Juniata College. Hollins looked to start the seven day, four match, trip with consecutive wins for the first time this season.

    The Hollins tennis team kicked off a four match in seven day road swing with a stop in Greensboro. The Green and Gold would face Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foe, Guilford College in advance of driving to Hilton Head for a trio of matches next week. The winner of the match with the Quakers would pick up their first ODAC win of the season.

    The Hollins tennis team hosted their final home match in advance of embarking on a seven day road trip over Spring Break. Ferrum College was the opponent as the Green and Gold appeared poised for their first win of the season.
  • Hollins Falls To Nationally Ranked Generals

    Hollins faced the tough task of challenging Washington and Lee on Saturday morning in Lexington. The Generals came into the matchup 14th in the nation in the most recent DIII Women's Tennis rankings. Last weekend at the ITA Indoor National Championships, W&L placed sixth and came into the match with a perfect 4-0 conference record while Hollins would need a huge upset to record their first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory.
  • Hollins Battles Cold In Home Opener

    Frigid temperatures and gray skies were the backdrop for the Hollins tennis home opener on Tuesday afternoon. Southern Virginia would be the opponent as Hollins looked to rebound after a season opening loss to Lynchburg College last week. The Knights had already defeated the Hornets earlier so the home team would need a good start in the doubles matches if they were to pull of the upset.
  • Hollins Falls In Season Opener

    The Hollins tennis team not only kicked of the 2018 season on Wednesday afternoon, they also competed against Old Dominion Athletic Conference Competition for the first time. Hollins traveled to face Lynchburg College in their season debut. The Hornets came into play having already competed in four matches and the Hollins nerves and lack of match seasoning were more than enough for the Hornets to take advantage.
  • Hollins Competes At Methodist Invitational

    Sunday afternoon marked the conclusion of the three day Methodist University Invitational Tennis Tournament. Hollins was in action with five other schools, competing in three doubles and six singles draws.
  • Hollins Tennis Named All Academic
    July 26, 2017
    The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released it's annual All-Academic and Student-Athlete teams. The Hollins team and six of her individual student-athletes were honored by the national organization.
  • Hollins Tabbed 10th In Preseason Poll
    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released their 2018 Women's Tennis Preseason Poll on Thursday morning. As voted on by the league's coaches, Hollins was tabbed 10th in the 12 team conference.
