Winchester, VA - For the fourth time in a week, Hollins took to the courts looking to pick up another, late season, Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory. The Green and Gold entered the road match against Shenandoah looking to extend her three match win steak. A win over the Hornets would all be seal up an invite to the 2017 ODAC Tennis Tournament.

Hollins didn't get off to the quick start that had been the norm as of late, as Shenandoah won at #1 and #2 doubles. At the #3 spot, the Hollins duo of Kateri Johnson and Casey Mahan continued their hot streak by taking the match, their fourth win in row. However, the home team took the 2-1 lead into singles play.

Hollins would need at win at least four of the six matches to earn the ODAC victory and with losses at the top two spots, it appeared that the three match win streak would come to an end. Amelia Verkerk won at #3 without losing a game, 6-0 and 6-0. Johnson was involved in anther Hollins win with a straight sets victory, 6-1 and 6-1, at the #5 spot with Elizabeth Rochow winning at #6 for the second time in as many matches, 6-2 and 6-2. The #4 singles match was the closest of the afternoon. Htet Myat San won a first set tie breaker, 7-3, to go up one set to love. With the deciding set tied at 5-5, San won consecutive games to take the win and give Hollins the match, her fourth in a row. 

The win gives Hollins four conference victories and is currently tied with Emory & Henry for the 7th seed. Hollins will wrap up her regular season with a trip to Roanoke College late next week.
