The Hollins swim team opened their 2016-17 season with a trip to South Carolina to compete in the Converse College All Women's Invitational. Hollins placed fourth, one spot and 17 points clear of their arch rivals from Sweet Briar College.

In a field that included NCAA DII, DIII, and NAIA competition, Hollins was the highest finishing division 3 team in the final standings. The two day event was comprised of 18 different individual and relay races.

The best individual finishes for Hollins occurred in the second event of the meet. Dani Raymond finished fifth, one spot ahead of Kaleigh DePetro in the longest event of the weekend, the 1650 Freestyle. Raymond came back later in the meet to post a seventh in the 500 Freestyle while securing points in the 100 and 200 Fresstyle events. Debra Henke enjoyed her best finish with a seventh in the 400 Individual Medley. Henke also produced top 10 points in the 50 Freestyle and the 200 IM.
