Hollins falls to Emory & Henry on the road, 6-0

Event: Soccer - Hollins at Emory & Henry (Emory, VA)

The lead: For the second consecutive night the Hollins vans would travel to Emory & Henry. Last night, it was the volleyball team that faced the Wasps while the soccer team would load the vans to head south for the two hour trip on Wednesday..

The result: E&H 6-0

How it happened: The night would begin as a defensive struggle between a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) teams in need of a win. Just past the mid-way point of the first half, the home standing Wasps would break the tie. Over the final 20 minutes, Emory & Henry would add two more scores to increase the lead. A quick second half goal would take away any hopes of a Hollins comeback as the Wasps would go on for the 6-0 ODAC win.

Hollins notes:

  • Hollins fell in consecutive ODAC road games by identical, 6-0, scores
  • Kendra Rich recorded double-digit saves for the third straight game, fifth of the season
  • Hollins has been held scoreless for the past five matches

Emory & Henry notes:

  • 25 first half shots allowed the Wasps to take control of the matchup
  • Eva Hart netted her fourth and fifth goals of the season
  • Kieran Liseska earned her first win of the season in goal

What's next: Hollins will play host to Ferrum on a rare early, weekday, afternoon matchup on Friday at 2:00pm on Berkley Field.
