Event: Soccer - Hollins at Gallaudet (Washington, DC)

The lead: After winning in our Nation's Capital on Saturday, Hollins defeated Trinity (DC) 2-0, a win on Sunday would allow the Green and Gold to even their early season record at 2-2. Gallaudet played host to Hollins on a wet Sunday afternoon.

The result: Gallaudet 9-0

How it happened: Hollins would see the weather and a rested Gallaudet squad too much to overcome in the game's opening minutes. The Bison would score just over a minute into play and add two more before the 5:00 mark. After the hot start by the hosts, Hollins could never get going and failed in their bid for a weekend sweep falling to the Bison.

Hollins notes:

  • Goal keeper Kendra Rich registered six saves
  • Hollins was out-shot 18-5
  • Madisen Charles led Hollins in shots on goal and made three saves in net

Gallaudet notes:

  • Sabina Shysh and Hannah Neild each scored three goals on four shots
  • Silvya Levesque saved all five shots she faced in evening her record at 2-2 on the season
  • Gallaudet scored six times on 13 first half shots

What's next: Hollins will travel to New York next weekend but will make a stop in New Jersey on Friday for a game with St. Elizabeth at 4:00pm.
