Roanoke, VA - Hollins played host to perennial Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) power Washington and Lee on Wednesday afternoon. The Generals came into the match after a win over Randolph College while the home standing Hollins squad looked to pick up a conference win.
The scoring started six minutes into the game when Chandler Wickers took a long pass across the box and deposited the ball in the back of the net. After another Washington and Lee score, Wickers won a 50/50 ball and scored her second goal of the afternoon to give the Genearls a 3-0 lead. Washington and Lee continued to apply pressure on the Hollins defense and as the half came to a close, the Generals had built a 6-0 advantage. The second half was more of the same as the visitors came within one shot of matching their 19 first half attempts and finished the afternoon with 37 total shots, 24 being on the mark. The Generals ran their conference record to 3-1 on the back of an 11-0 win over Hollins.
Hannah Armstrong registered her seventh straight double digit save effort by recording 13 saves. Armstrong has stopped at least 10 shots in 11 of her first 13 collegiate games.
Kelsey Chamberlin recorded a hat trick with Wickers, Ashley Hogan, and Tricia Jessee each scoring twice. Caroline Hahn came off the bench to score once while handing out three assists.
Hollins will travel to Lynchburg to take on the WildCats of Randolph College on Saturday afternoon.
