Ferrum, VA - The Hollins lacrosse team was back in action on Friday with a trip to Ferrum as the season enters its closing two weeks of play. The home standing Panthers struck first, scoring six times in the opening five minutes of play.
Hollins would answer with their first goal of the game when Madi Szurley netted her, team leading, sixth score of the season. The offensive momentum could not be sustained as Ferrum closed out the first 30 minutes of play by scoring six unanswered goals to take a 13-1 advantage into the break.
The second half would see just 15 total shots by the two southwestern Virginia foes. The Panthers would connect on two of their three free position attempts to account for a two of their seven second half tallies.
Szurley had one goal and a game high six draw controls. Delaney Waller recorded four saves while picking up four ground balls.
Kaitlyn Harley was a perfect 6-6 on shot attempts and added four assists. Kiani Mohica and Sienna Burgos-Altman scored three times while Brittany Hall went the distance in net, registering five saves.
Hollins has two more games left this season with the first being a trip to Lynchburg to face Randolph College on Tuesday night.
