Abingdon, VA - For the final time this fall, the Hollins golf team teed it up when they traveled to Southwest Virginia to compete in the Emory & Henry Women's Fall Classic. The one day event was contested over a 5,804 layout at the Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon.
14 golfers from four different schools challenged the par 72 setup. Hollins would finish second, behind only the host Wasps. The green and gold finished ahead of her arch rivals from Sweet Briar for the second consecutive tournament.
Michelle DuCom returned from fall break to pace Hollins and pick up her first top five of the season. The senior finished just two strokes behind the number two finisher for Emory & Henry, while besting all four Vixens and a pair of Wasps. Fresh off her fifth place effort at Southern Virginia, Ya Gao finished seventh while Pranika Kar would give Hollins a trio of golfers in the top 10. Kate Kirkpatrick rounded out the scoring for a Hollins team that will enjoy a break before resuming their season in February.
