Nellysford, VA - The first round of the 2017 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Golf Championships took place on Sunday afternoon. The tournament is scheduled to be contested over three days on the Stoney Creek Golf Course in Wintergreen. The women's championship is being held on the Tuckahoe and Monocan courses, playing at par 72 over the 5,805 layout.
The field consists of 30 golfers from eight different conference schools. Hollins sent a trio individual competitors, one shy of the minimum to compete for the team championship. Senior Shelby Estes paced Hollins with an opening round 85. Estes sits in a tie for fourth with two rounds remaining. Shannon Ciccarello shot an 89, good enough for a 12th place position, giving Hollins a pair of golfers on the top half of the leaderboard. Amber Markovitz rounded out the lineup for Hollins, currently tied for 25th in the field.
The second round got upder way on Sunday evening and is scheduled to be completed on Monday morning.
