Browns Summit, NC - For the first time in 2017, the Hollins golf team was in action on Monday when they traveled to Greensboro. The team would take aim at some of the region's best in the 13 team, 63 golfer field in the Callaway Spring Invite, hosted by Greensboro College. The two-day event is being contested at Bryan Park Champions Course in Browns Summit, NC.

After the first round of play, Hollins finds themselves in 13th. Senior Shelby Estes carded the best round of the day with an eight over par, 80. In the 63 player field, Estes is currently 15th but just two shots out of the top 10. Fellow senior Shannon Ciccarello fired an 83 and is sitting in the top 30 heading into tomorrow's second, and final round. Melissa Noles and Pranika Kar finished the round separated by just a single stroke.

Methodist University sits atop the team standings with a one shot lead over Washington and Lee and a stroke stroke advantage over Oglethorpe.
