Washington, D.C. - On the final day of classes for the fall semester, Hollins traveled to face Gallaudet in our nation's capital. With finals quickly approaching, the green and gold would have one last shot at picking up a road win prior to the exam break while the Bison were looking to break a two game home losing streak.

After suffering through their worst shooting night of the season on Tuesday against Randolph-Macon, Hollins would need to find their offensive rhythm early against their hosts. However, Gallaudet would start the game by scoring 15 of the first 17 points and race out to a big first quarter advantage, 26-10. The Bison would continue to control both ends of the floor and despite Hollins shooting 39% for the half, the home team would enjoy a 43-18 lead at the half. The Bison turned Hollins over 15 times during the first half and it allowed Gallaudet to covert them into easy attempts while converting 50% of their 32 chances. During the third quarter, Hollins would match Gallaudet point for point but could not make up any of the deficit. Hollins would close the game on a 12-0 run but it wasn't enough as the Bison picked up the win, 67-51.

Keyazia Taylor and Chesslyn Owens each posted double-digit efforts for Hollins. Taylor netted 12 points while Owens came off the bench to score 11 points, three assists, and four steals. LaChrisha Hill added eight and Max Nagle scored six. Emily Jo Huffard filled up the stat sheet with six points, four rebounds, three assists, and four blocked shots.

Hannah Neild led all scores with 19 points and Emelia Beldon scored 17 with six helpers. Kelsey Hudson had six points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

Hollins will take a week to finish up their exams before wrapping up 2017 with a trip to Baltimore on December 16th when they face Notre Dame, Maryland.
