Roanoke, VA - The Hollins equestrian team got back to Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) action over the weekend. On Saturday, Hollins traveled to Lynchburg to compete at the Randolph IHSA event before heading home on Sunday to join Washington and Lee in hosting their spring event. At Randolph, Hollins posted a third place result while finishing sixth at their hosted show.
The Hollins team finished with 29 points, just two points out of Reserve Champion position at the Randolph IHSA event. Taylor Campbell finished atop the final standings in Beginning Walk Trot Canter and with her victory moved into the Advanced discipline. Logan Landfried earned a Blue Ribbon in Novice Fences. Randi Byrd qualified for regionals with her win in Intermediate Fences and picked up a second set of first place points in Open Flat. For her efforts, Byrd was named High Point Rider for the show. Hollins saw another pair of riders earn top three ribbons. In Advanced Walk Trot Canter, Leslie Giorgetti finished up as the runner-up while Katie Grandelli finished third in Novice Fences.

On Sunday, the team returned to Roanoke to co-host their spring show. With 23 points, Hollins placed sixth in the eight team field. Hollins riders claimed a trifect of first place ribbons during the show. Campbell earned a Blue Ribbon in Advanced Walk Trot Canter after moving up from the Beginning class on Saturday. Giorgetti also picked up a first place finish in Walk Trot Canter with Elese Nicholson finishing ahead of the pack in Novice Flat. Grandelli picked up her second consecutive third place finish in Novice Fences.
