Hollins Riders Compete At SWVHJA Annual Show

Lexington, VA - The Southwest Virginia Hunter Jumper Association (SWVHJA) held it's annual show over the weekend. The three day event was held at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington from November 3rd - 5th.

Madeleine Lohr earned several ribbons en route to being named Special Adult Hunter Champion as well as under saddle Hopeful Hunter Champion. Lohr bested many of the best riders in the area to earn the prestigious honor. Also, Madeleine won the Gold Medal in the Adult Flat Equitation Championship. Heavon Allen earned the Bronze Medal in the SWVHJA Adult Medal Finals. A second Bronze Medal came back to Hollins when Randi Byrd earned the honor in the Adult Equitation on the Flat.

Several other Hollins riders earned ribbons during the event. Allison Sherwood brought home a first place ribbon in Adult Hunter under Saddle. Madi Szurley finished runner up in Special Adult Hunter over Fences. Lohr was also first in Hopeful Hunter over Fences while Byrd earned a third place finish in SWVHJA Adult Equitation on the Flat. Elese Nicholson captured a third place ribbon in Special Adult Hunter over Fences.
