Charlottesville, VA - The Hollins riders were back in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) action on Saturday. It marked the second IHSA event of the fall and Hollins looked to build on their Reserve Champion effort at Randolph College back on September 23rd, The University of Virginia hosted nine schools looking to earn more points towards the Regional event next spring.
For the second time in as many events, Hollins was named Reserve Champion, finishing only behind the host Cavaliers.
Randi Byrd helped lead the way with a first in Intermediate Fences and a runner-up in Open Flat. For her efforts, Byrd was named Reserve High Point Rider for the show. Mara Smith picked up the other blue ribbon for Hollins when she finished a top the field in Advance Walk Trot Canter. Allison Sherwood qualified for Regionals with her second place finish in Intermediate Fences. Leslie Giorgetti made it three runner-up efforts for the green and gold when she finished just behind Smith in Advanced Walk Trot Canter.
A trio of riders finished third giving Hollins nine different top three ribbons on the afternoon. Madeleine Lohr brought home third place points in Open Fences with Logan Landfried getting her top three in Novice Fences. Maegan Agee gave Hollins their final top three finish in Walk Trot.
Hollin will look to build on their early season success in two weeks when they travel to Bridgewater for the Eagle's IHSA fall show.
