2017 ODAC Equestrian Champs!!!

Roanoke, VA - The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) held her annual Championship show on Wednesday. The 2017 Championships were decided at the Kirby Riding Ring on the campus of Hollins University and included four riders from each of the six conference schools. Hollins finished atop the final standings for the 21st time in the history of the conference.

The championship was the first for Hollins since 2013. In addition to taking top team honors, Hollins head coach Claudia Roland was named 2017 ODAC Coach of the Year and thanks to her third place finish in the overall standings, Madeline Lohr was named All ODAC.

The Hollins quartet of riders (Lohr, Randi Byrd, Madi Hurley, and Allison Sherwood) accumulated 17 points during the event, one point clear of the runners up from Sweet Briar College. Lohr finished with 82.625 points to register a third place finish, securing her second consecutive All ODAC designation. Byrd and Hurley wrapped up the show in a tie for 13th with 76.250.

Reserve -- Sweet Briar 16 pts.
Third -- Lynchburg 12 pts.
Fourth -- Randolph 9 pts.
Fourth -- Washington and Lee 9 pts.
Sixth -- Bridgewater 3 pts.
