2017 Hollins Spring Welcome Show

Lexington, VA - Over the weekend, the Hollins equestrian team competed at the 2017 Hollins Spring Welcome Show. Several riders brought home ribbons for their efforts during the, four day, event that was held at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA.

During the event a quartet of Hollins riders were named Champion or Reserve Champion. In the Limit Hunter, Hollins earned a sweep of the major awards. Julie Habighorst was named Champion while riding Mydis. Teammate Katelym Mosmiller, aboard Dresden Hit, earned the designation of Reserve Champion. Maddy Lohr finished earned a first, second, and fourth in Adult Hunter en route to being named Reserve Champion. In Open Hunter, Kate McNamee rode Vincero to a pair of runner-up ribbons and being named Reserve Champion.

In addition, several other riders earned first and second place ribbons. Allison Sherwood brought home a first in Amateur Owner Hunter and a second in Low Hunter. Emily Collins earned her first place ribbon in Novice Hunter.

In the Collegiate Cup Exhibition, Lohr (Open), Sherwood (Intermediate), and Lucy Smith (Novice)competed as Team Gold and the trio was named Reserve Champion. Team Green consisted of Madi Hurley (Open), Randi Byrd (Intermediate), and Mosmiller (Novice) and recorded a sixth place finish.
